These conditions of participation apply to seminars, symposia and conferences (hereinafter “events”) provided by the continuing education programmes of the FHNW School of Social Work. Separate conditions of participation apply to the structured continuing education programmes – CAS, DAS and MAS – offered by the FHNW School of Social Work.
The contents of the continuing education events are listed in their respective flyers/websites. The FHNW School of Social Work reserves the right to make changes to the events as well as to the lecturers and speakers. Claims cannot be brought as a result of such changes.
By registering, participants undertake to pay the continuing education event fees in full and on time. The fees for the events and payment methods are based on the information available (flyers and websites) at the time of registration. The costs of accommodation, meals and mobility are not included, unless otherwise stated in the flyers/websites.
The fees remain payable in full even if an individual event is not attended or attendance is discontinued early. If the discontinuation is due to legitimate reasons (in particular due to illness), the persons responsible for the event may waive the fees or a portion thereof upon submission of appropriate evidence (e.g. a doctor’s certificate).
Withdrawal from a continuing education event by the participant following confirmation of registration by the FHNW School of Social Work must be made in writing.
The FHNW School of Social Work reserves the right to make changes to an event (location, time, lecturers, speakers, contents, etc.) in order to improve its quality and/or organisation and feasibility.
The FHNW School of Social Work reserves the right to cancel or postpone a continuing education event if there are insufficient registrations. Registered persons will be notified in writing (email or post) of the cancellation/postponement of a continuing education event no later than four weeks prior to start of the event. In the event of a cancellation by the FHNW School of Social Work, the latter will reimburse any fees already paid.
In the event of a postponement, registered persons may withdraw their registration in writing within 14 days of being notified. In this case, the FHNW School of Social Work will reimburse any fees already paid. Any others claims for compensation are expressly excluded.
Changes to events as outlined in paragraph 1 are not deemed to be cancellations or postponements.
The participant is responsible for obtaining accident and liability insurance. The FHNW declines all liability.
The data protection regulations of the FHNW govern the way it uses data.
Participants in a continuing education event expressly acknowledge that their contact details may be shared with other participants and that their names and addresses may be stored for internal purposes and used for e.g. marketing purposes by the FHNW. No personal data is shared with third parties.
Event and teaching materials are protected by copyright. Unauthorised copying and unauthorised redistribution outside of the FHNW School of Social Work are prohibited without the written consent of those responsible for the event.
The sole place of jurisdiction for disputes shall be the courts in Brugg-Windisch. Swiss law shall apply.
These conditions of participation apply from 1 May 2023 and replace all previous versions.
