1. Jurisdictional scope
These General Terms and Conditions are applicable to implementation of the 20th International Conference on Migration “The Multicultural Condition”, June 18-19, 2020 in Olten/Switzerland. The conference. The conference is jointly organized by the University of Innsbruck, TH Köln, IRM, University of Innsbruck, and CDMH and the FHNW.
2. Registration and declaration of consent
Registrations for the conference are dealt with as a rule in the chronological order in which they are received, and are confirmed in writing. Once those who register have paid the full participation fee by the specified due date, they have the right to take part in the individual events and sessions of the conference. Should participants not take part in certain individual such events, they have no entitlement for any financial claim against the conference organizers.
By registering, the participants declare they are in agreement that photographs taken or video recordings made at a conference event by order and on behalf of the School of Social Work, University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) can be utilized for the public relations (PR) work of the School of Social Work of the University (Newsletter, Internet, Social Media, etc.).
3. Cancellation of final registration
In the case of cancellation of a final registration that has been confirmed, a processing fee of 50 CHF will be charged in the time frame up to four weeks before the beginning of the conference. There will be no reimbursement after a cancelation within 4 weeks before the conference.
4.Cancellation, postponement of the event
Should implementation of the conference be rendered impossible due to force majeure, natural catastrophes, armed conflicts, etc., conference participants have no right to any further claims against the conference organizers. The conference fee shall be fully reimbursed.
5. Expenses
The conference fee is understood to be exclusive of any additional services, such as accommodation, travel expenses, meals, etc. With their registration, participants accept the obligation to pay the full specified conference fee. If the fee for participation is not paid before the onset of the conference, the organizers have no obligation to allow those who have registered but not paid that full fee to enter and participate in conference events.
6. Participation in conference events
If individual lectures, presentations or other events in the context of the conference should be cancelled (for example, due to illness of the presenters), there can be no claims raised for this against the organizers. Similarly, no financial claims can be made against the organizers should participants not take part in given individual events.
7. Liability
The organizers exclude any liability, for the duration of the conference, for any material loss or damage, also in particular as a result of theft. The participants are themselves responsible for their own insurance protection.
