General Conditions of Participation for the Healthy Soils event

  1. Scope

These General Terms and Conditions of Business and Participation of the organizer Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz FHNW, Hochschule für Life Sciences (HLS) apply to all participants of the "Health Soils Conference Series, 1st edition on Soil Fertility" conference on September 13-15, 2023.

  1. Registration and Declaration of Consent

Participants register online. Registrations will be processed in order of receipt. Each registration will be confirmed by email. This confirmation makes the registration final.

With their registration, participants agree that photos or video recordings made at the event on behalf of the HLS FHNW may be used for the public relations work of the HLS FHNW (newsletter, internet, social media, etc.).

  1. Conference Fees

The conference fees include VAT. The price includes refreshments during breaks, lunch and aperitifs. Additional costs such as accommodation, travel expenses, meals outside of the event, etc. are not included in the conference fee.

  1. Payment Arrangements

By registering, participants undertake to pay the conference fees on time. The conference fees can be paid by credit card, twint or invoice. If the conference fee is not paid before the event, the organizer is entitled to exclude the participants from the conference.

  1. Cancellation, postponement of events

If the conference cannot be held and a postponement is not possible, the conference fee will be refunded. Any further claims cannot be asserted.

If individual lectures or presentations cannot take place as part of the conference (e.g. because the speaker is ill), no claims can be derived from this.

If the on-site implementation is not possible due to an unforeseeable event that is beyond the control of the FHNW (natural disasters, pandemic, armed conflict, ...), the organizers will consider an online format.

The organizer reserves the right to make program changes and will inform the participants about changes as soon as possible.

  1. Cancellation of a definitive registration

If you cancel your registration up to July 31, 2023, you will be charged 50% of the conference fee. If the cancellation is made after July 31, 2023, 100% of the conference fees will be charged. It is possible to send a replacement person.

  1. Liability

Liability on the part of the FHNW for personal injury, property damage or financial loss is excluded to the extent permitted by law. In particular, the FHNW rejects liability for lost or damaged items. The participants are responsible for their own insurance cover.

  1. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This agreement is exclusively subject to Swiss law. Place of jurisdiction is Brugg-Windisch.
