These General Business and Participation Terms and Conditions of the organiser, FHNW School of Life Sciences (HLS), apply to all participants in the «Swiss Symposium Point-of-Care-Diagnostics» on 20 October 2022.
2. Registration and declaration of consent
Participants register online. Registrations will be considered in the order in which they are received and each registration will be confirmed by e-mail. This e-mail confirmation makes the registration final.
By registering, participants agree that photos or video recordings taken at the event by or on behalf of the HLS may be used for the public relations work of the HLS (newsletters, internet, social media, etc.).
3. Conference fees
As stated in the announcement, the conference fees include VAT. The fees include refreshments during breaks, lunch and aperitifs. Other costs such as accommodation, travel expenses, meals outside the event, etc. are not included in the conference fee.
4. Payment methods
By registering, participants agree to pay the conference fees by the deadline for payment.
The conference fees can be paid by credit card, Twint or via invoice.
If the conference fee is not paid before the event, the organiser has the right to exclude the participants involved from the conference.
5. Cancellation or postponement of events
If the conference cannot be held, nor postponed to a later date, the conference fee will be refunded. No further claims can be made in relation to this.
No claims can be made in the event that individual lectures or presentations cannot take place during the conference (e.g. due to illness of speakers).
If it is not possible to hold the conference on site due to an unforeseeable event beyond the control of the FHNW (natural disaster, pandemic, war, etc.), the organisers will consider an online format.
The programme is subject to change.
The organisers will inform participants of any changes as soon as possible.
6. Cancellation of a confirmed registration
Cancellation in writing before the conference registration deadline will incur no penalty. If the cancellation is received before 6 June 2022, 50% of the conference fees will be charged. For any cancellation after that date 100% of the conference fees will be charged.
It is possible for a substitute to attend, but a handling fee of CHF 20 will be charged.
Liability of the FHNW for personal injury, property damage or financial loss is excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law. In particular, the FHNW declines any and all liability for lost or damaged property. Participants are responsible for their own insurance cover.
8. Applicable law and place of jurisdiction
This agreement is subject exclusively to Swiss law. The place of jurisdiction is Brugg-Windisch.
